[Trailer] “The Wait” is F. Javier Gutierrez’s Most Candid and Merciless Work Yet

F. Javier Gutiérrez, a notable filmmaker from Spain who has directed films such as “Before the Fall” and “Rings,” has returned with a new movie entitled “The Wait” or “La Espera”.

This film is described as a somber tragedy of folk horror that unfolds in the mystical and abandoned countryside of Andalusia, an area that is known for its ancient customs.

The movie’s trailer is available for viewing exclusively on Bloody Disgusting. The release date for the film in Spain has been set for December 15th, while news regarding its distribution in the United States is forthcoming.

The Wait, written by Gutierrez, has been hailed as a tribute to the horror/fantasy genre as well as Gutierrez’s most candid and merciless work yet. The horror film depicts the haunting journey of a man who has endured the tragic loss of his loved ones, as he descends into a world of darkness and terror.

The forthcoming horror film is brought to audiences through a collaboration between Spal Films, Nostromo Pictures (known for their work on Buried and Penny Dreadful), and Unfiled Films, which is Gutierrez’s own production company.

The movie features a cast that includes Victor Clavijo (previously seen in Before the Fall), Ruth Diaz, Manuel Moron, and Luis Callejo (who also had a part in Below Zero).
