[Trailer] First Trailer For George A. Romero’s Failed ‘Resident Evil’ Project Released

Back in March, a brief preview for the documentary about George A. Romero’s ill-fated Resident Evil project was released. Recently, Residence of Evil shared the complete trailer for director Brandon Salisbury’s George A. Romero’s Resident Evil. The documentary is scheduled to be released in 2024.

The documentary, George A. Romero’s Resident Evil, produced by Key 13 Films in collaboration with Point Five Films, and written by Salisbury and Robbie McGregor, takes a retrospective look at the events surrounding the screenplay for Resident Evil and Constantin Films in 1998. Utilizing a stylized approach, the film is presented in the format of a documentary, incorporating recovered archival footage, recently discovered documents, and newly recorded interviews with a diverse range of individuals.

Similar to the teaser that preceded it, the trailer also includes fan service by showcasing clips from the first game, including Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, as well as recreations of S.T.A.R.S members in the forest, and more. The documentary will combine elements from Capcom’s classic video game franchise, which is centered around a mansion that resembles the Spencer Mansion in Resident Evil, and the visceral style of George A. Romero to create a cinematic horror experience that fully engrosses the audience.
