“The Exorcist: Believer” Has Been Rated R for ‘Violent Content, Disturbing Images, Language, and Sexual References’

The upcoming release of The Exorcist: Believer has garnered a lot of attention from fans who eagerly anticipate its arrival.

Widely recognized as the most frightening film ever made, the original Exorcist movie carries with it a great deal of hype and expectation. This latest installment is a direct sequel to the original film and disregards all previous sequels, adding to the excitement surrounding its release.

Today’s announcement disclosed that the movie has received an R rating due to the inclusion of violent scenes, unsettling imagery, explicit language, and sexual references.

David Gordon Green is directing the upcoming Exorcist trilogy, which will be distributed by Blumhouse, Universal, and Morgan Creek. Ellen Burstyn, known for her roles in The Exorcist and Interstellar will be reprising her role as Chris MacNeil in the upcoming film. The cast will also feature Leslie Odom Jr., who has starred in Hamilton and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Jennifer Nettles, a celebrated singer/songwriter, Olivia Marcum, who has performed in Matilda the Musical, and Lidya Jewett, who has appeared in Nightbooks and Feel the Beat.
