[News] ‘Welcome To Derry’ TV Series Pushed Back From Halloween 2024 to Sometime in 2025

HBO had initially planned to release their Max series “Welcome to Derry” on Halloween in 2024. However, the network made an announcement this week that the series will not be available until 2025, though the exact release date has yet to be determined.

“We had had [Welcome To Derry] scheduled for Halloween ’24 but it will likely [be] pushing into ’25,”

HBO CEO Casey Bloys

The upcoming series will serve as a prequel to the pair of cinematic adaptations of Stephen King’s IT directed by Andy Muschietti.

It has been announced that Andy Muschietti is scheduled to direct a number of episodes.

The cast features a number of notable names, including Taylour Paige playing the titular role of Zola, Jovan Adepo from “Watchmen”, Chris Chalk from “Perry Mason”, James Remar as Oppenheimer, Madeleine Stowe from “Revenge”, and Stephen Rider who starred in “Daredevil”.

The prequel series will be overseen by Jason Fuchs, who has worked on projects such as Wonder Woman and Ice Age: Continental Drift, and Brad Caleb Kane, who has experience in “Moonhaven,” “Black Sails,” and “Fringe.” As co-showrunners, they will work in tandem to bring this new series to fruition.
