Joe Manganiello Will Fight Zombies In Upcoming Horror Film Mountain Man

It has just been reported by Deadline that actor Joe Manganiello will star in a new zombie movie called Mountain Man, which he will also produce through his company, 3:59. Manganiello has previously appeared in a large number of films, and he is known for his roles in films such as Rampage, Drunk Parents, Archenemy, and Shoplifters of the World. Although he is clearly a talented actor, Manganiello has been given very few leading roles in the past. Which is why it comes as a relief to hear that he will play the main protagonist Mountain Man, instead of appearing as a supporting player. Because of this, the upcoming zombie film should finally allow Manganiello to showcase his acting skills in a more substantial capacity.

Mountain Man will serve as an adaptation of the series of novels of the same name by Keith C. Blackmore, and it will be directed by John Lee, who also helmed the acclaimed False Positive, with Matt Deller providing the screenplay. The books told the story of a bitter and despondent man named Gus, who struggled to survive in a world ravaged by zombies, before a chance encounter with a female survivor changes his outlook on life.

Although it does not yet have a release date, Mountain Man will begin filming later this year. It was also confirmed in the Deadline article that production company Film Bridge International will be hoping to sell the film to distributors at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, which runs from May 14 to 25. We should hopefully be hearing more news about Mountain Man around that time.
