Filming On Fede Alvarez’s New ‘Alien’ Movie is Officially Done

Fede Alvarez, renowned for his directorial work on films such as Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe, has been entrusted with the task of directing the upcoming addition to the esteemed Alien franchise.

This forthcoming film holds particular significance as it will mark the first time an Alien movie is released under the Disney banner. The countdown continues as we approach the eagerly anticipated debut of Alvarez’s film, “Alien,” slated to hit theaters on August 16, 2024.

In an Instagram post yesterday, the director shared the exciting news that principal photography has officially concluded, marking a significant milestone in the production process. Under the guidance of Ridley Scott and 20th Century Studios, Alvarez has taken up the directorial reins for the highly anticipated new installment of the Alien franchise.

The film features an ensemble cast led by Cailee Spaeny, known for her roles in The Craft: Legacy and Pacific Rim Uprising. Joining her are Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu.

The script for the film was a collaborative effort between Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues, who is known for his work on Evil Dead.
