Darkside Releasing Acquires Underneath: An Anthology of Terror

Darkside Releasing, the distribution company known for their wild and genre-bending films, has recently acquired “Underneath: An Anthology of Terror” from Thinking Chrome Productions and Beats In Heat. The film is set for release in Spring 2023, and promises to be a clever, dark, bloody, and utterly twisted horror anthology.

“Underneath” is directed by John Nicol, Andre Becker, and Cory Ivanchuk, and tells a Lovecraftian narrative of horror and insanity. An unstable individual is lured back to his country home by dark, mysterious forces, only to find that the house itself is a conduit into hell. Breaches in the basement spew forth a mysterious black fluid carrying whispers of insanity, tales of terror and corruption… An anthology of madness and horror from ‘the other side’.

The film features Brent Baird, Nicholas Koy Santillo, Andrew Baptiste, Carole Malone, Mikey McMurran, Niki Kerro, and Rebecca Kilburn. The Blu-ray release will include a director’s commentary and the short film “Glimpse,” which inspired the anthology.

“Underneath” is Nicol’s second feature for Thinking Chrome Productions, following the award-winning “Channel Zero” and “Glimpse,” an experimental horror short. He is currently working on the sequel to “Underneath,” titled “Underneath: Beyond The Threshold.” Nicol is also a contributing writer for Fangoria Magazine and fangoria.com, Delirium Magazine, and ShockTillYouDrop.com.

Beats In Heat and Andre Becker have been involved with indie filmmaking for the past 20 years, with Becker serving as co-producer, composer, and director on various projects. His illustrations have also been featured in Fangoria Magazine.

“Underneath: An Anthology of Terror” is now available on Blu-ray at Darkside Releasing’s website, with VOD and streaming options coming soon to Amazon Prime, Tubi, and many more platforms. Darkside Releasing promises to deliver yet another wild, genre-bending film with “Underneath,” and horror fans won’t want to miss this twisted and terrifying anthology.
