Netflix has recently declared that a new international spinoff movie, Bird Box Barcelona, will be released on July 14th, set in the same world as the 2018 blockbuster hit, Bird Box.
The Pastor brothers, who wrote and directed “The Occupant” and “The Head,” are the filmmakers behind the first spinoff movie. This particular film is set in Barcelona and falls under the thriller genre while using the Spanish language.
“After a mysterious force decimates the world’s population by causing all who see it to take their lives, Sebastian and his young daughter Anna must navigate their own journey of survival through the desolate streets of Barcelona. But as they form an uneasy alliance with other survivors and make their way toward a safe haven, a threat more sinister than the unseen creatures grows.”
Bird Box Barcelona features a star-studded cast including Mario Casas, Georgina Campbell, Diego Calva, Alejandra Howard, Naila Schuberth, Patrick Criado, Celia Freijeiro, Lola Dueñas, Gonzalo de Castro, Michelle Jenner, and Leonardo Sbaraglia.
Dylan Clark and Chris Morgan, who produced the hit movie “Bird Box,” are set to return. This time, they will be producing a Spanish language movie in collaboration with Nostromo Pictures’ Adrián Guerra and Núria Valls.
The executive producers for this production comprise of Susanne Bier, Josh Malerman, Ryan Lewis, and Ainsley Davies for Chris Morgan Productions, as well as Brian Williams for Dylan Clark Productions.
