Why We Love Zombies – Blood Brothers Life Harvest

Hi, my name is Brit Sellers, I am a horror film maker, and I love zombies!

Something about the horror of seeing ordinary people devolve into mindless cannibalistic monsters has always been fascinating to me. I love the fear and the excitement that comes with a really good zombie apocalypse story, especially seeing the struggles of individuals and families as they try to navigate such extreme situations, and protect each other in the process. There are many incredible zombie films, games, and TV shows in the world, and so many different kinds of zombies! Without a doubt, love for zombies is here to stay.

We were first introduced to the classic image that comes to mind when thinking of zombies in Night of the Living Dead. Since then, we have been introduced to a wide and amazingly different variety of zombies in media, from the fast, to the slow, from the intelligent, to the insane, from the scary, to the dumb, but always there is one underlying factor: An Insatiable Hunger for Human Flesh! The reasons behind the zombie plague can vary too, some are created from a virus, some from fungus, and some from mad scientists! The possibilities for zombies are only limited by imagination.

The many vulnerable, desperate, flawed, and sometimes heroic human characters are another reason why we love zombie media. Watching the struggles they are facing, and the strength that they can discover even in the midst of the most terrible circumstances is very relatable. In life, things are rarely smooth sailing, and sometimes things can get so bad you don’t think they can ever be good again. While we aren’t dealing with reanimated ravenous corpses, we, as human beings deal with things like death, sickness, and hopelessness very often. Exploring these topics in a setting such as a zombie film, tv show, or video game, allows us to face our fears instead of running from them.

I love zombie films so much that I decided to make one. Blood Brothers Life Harvest is set to be released on streaming services very soon, and we are all extremely excited! Together with a rag tag team of local and international zombie nuts, we made a wild zombie ride that we will never forget, and can’t wait for you to see! I wrote the film during a very dark time in my life when my mother, Vivian Sellers, was fighting a terrible battle with cancer. A lot of the emotions we felt, and the love we felt for each other, is present in the film. She passed away in January, but even though she was sick, she still helped me in the creation of this film, both in writing new characters, and helping with editing, design, and makeup, and without her, I could never have finished it. This was our dream, to create Blood Brothers Life Harvest and release it to the world. I hope you enjoy watching the film, as much as we did making it!

ABOUT BLOOD BROTHERS: LIFE HARVEST

The family that slays zombies together, stays uninfected together!

Brothers Enoch and Aaron fight to protect their family as a deadly rabies like virus spreads across the world. When one of them is bitten by a zombie, they must ask themselves the ultimate question: Is blood thicker than water?

This film is a poignant tale of family love and loyalty that will gnaw at your heartstrings… just as its monstrous creatures try to gnaw away at this family unit. Our money’s on the brave, determined family!

“A prime display of what indie filmmakers can do. Scoffer Studios and all the creative minds involved in BLOOD BROTHERS: LIFE HARVEST have taken what would normally be a subplot to huge action set pieces and zero body fat action heroes and are getting ready to deliver unto the horror community a zombie movie with heart and braaaaaaains.” – Horror Nation
